Indonesian WhatsApp Users Can Now Check Voice Notes Before Sending

WhatsApp is rolling out new features again to enrich the user experience when using the application. This time, WhatsApp started rolling out a feature called voice message preview. This new feature can be tested by Indonesian users. The new voice message preview feature allows users to re-listen to voice messages (voice notes) before they are sent to the intended person. “Today, WhatsApp is making voice messages even better with a new voice message preview feature. This feature is useful when users want to make sure the contents of a recorded voice message are correct,” WhatsApp said in a statement.

According to KompasTekno’s monitoring, this new feature is available on WhatsApp desktop version 2.2146.9, WhatsApp web version 2.2147.16, and WhatsApp application version 2.21.24.22 on Android phones. A number of devices belonging to KompasTekno can already enjoy this new feature. However, there are still devices that have not yet got the voice message preview feature.

Possibly, this feature will be rolled out in stages so that other users can only enjoy the voice message preview feature in the near future. Display voice message preview To be able to re-listen to voice messages that will be sent, users only need to record voice messages as usual. On WhatsApp web and desktop, simply click the microphone icon to record a voice message. Later, a new interface will automatically appear that displays sound waves, trash can icon, stop icon, and send icon.

When the voice message has been recorded, the user just clicks on the red stop icon. Then, the user will see a sound wave complete with a description of the duration of the voice note and the start icon (play).

To re-listen to the voicemail, click the “play” button. Later, the voice message that was recorded earlier will be played back. Users can move the green dot icon to move the part of the sound they want to hear. If the contents of the voice note are deemed appropriate, the user just clicks the “send” icon. That way, a voice note will be sent to the intended person. However, if when re-listening with the voice message preview feature there is an error, the user can click the trash can icon to delete the contents of the recorded voice message. Then, record a new voice note with the same steps as described previously.

While in the mobile application, the voice message preview feature can only be available if the user records the contents of the voice message in hands-free mode. As is known, the WhatsApp mobile application has two options for recording voice notes. First by clicking and holding the microphone icon. The second is with hands-free mode, namely by holding down the microphone icon and then sliding it upwards. Well, the voice message preview feature can only be used in this hands-free voice message recording mode.
